Come and be part of something bigger than yourself

Give A Day 2026

We are so excited for our Give a Day Week! There are many amazing projects of generosity, transformation and kindness across the city starting to pop up and there’s still more to come.

Would you love to get involved?

Check out the projects below and sign up or send your interest to the project.

Each project will take place during the week of June 29-July 5, 2026.

See you then!

We’ll be gathering in Carlisle town centre to lift spirits, share joy and spread kindness throughout the Carlisle community. Come and be part of something simple yet positively impactful. We’ll be giving away small gifts, uplifting quotes, phrases, greetings and of course lots of smiles to brighten people’s day. Together, let’s make Carlisle shine a little brighter and feel the love a little louder. Come and join us!

Join the Bitts Park Big Clean Up — a two-day, whole-community project to love our beautiful city park into the very best it can be. There's something for everyone: gardening, painting, cleaning, Balsam clearing and bug hotel building, spread right across the park. Come on your own, with the family, your class, your colleagues, or a few mates — and leave with new ones! Whether you've got an hour or both days, all hands welcome. 9am to 3pm Tuesday 30th June and Wednesday 1st July.

Come and join us 10.30am–1pm for Woodland Wonders at Kingmoor North Nature Reserve. Help Sherbatella, the Birthday Cake Fairy, care for this much-loved local green space through a friendly community litter pick, then enjoy a playful Fairysnuff-inspired story trail with games, woodland characters and creative activities in the forest clearing.

A practical build day for Carlisle Sea Cadets — preparing a 10ft x 10ft base for a new shed to house their lawn mower and Duke of Edinburgh campcraft equipment. Saturday or Sunday (flexible) — know-how, willing hands and practical skills welcome. Come and join us!

Hospice at Home is dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to individuals and their families during one of life's most challenging times. Come and get involved in helping to make their Clearance Sale happen so that they can continue to see their incredible care in our community continue to make a difference.

Help refresh The Rock Youth Project — a much-loved Carlisle charity that's been offering free, safe and welcoming youth sessions for over 20 years. We'll be giving their Currock site a lift with a mix of indoor and outdoor painting and a bit of gardening, ready to welcome the next generation of young people through the doors.

Help us give the staff room at Cummersdale School a long-overdue revamp! After 23 years of the same tired space, we want to create somewhere fresh, welcoming and restful for the brilliant staff who pour themselves into the school every day. We'll need willing hands for clearing, painting, decorating and a bit of light DIY. Come and help us look after the people who look after our kids. 💛

Carlisle College staff and the wider community will be refreshing Currock Community Centre to transform a space for the community as they open their doors to so many. This is taking place on the altered date of July 8th not the 3rd as advertised

Come and help the North Cumbria Search and Rescue team transform their outdoor space at Heathlands to a botanical delight. If yyou’re handy with a paint brush, you’d be so welcome! NCSR are an organisation created to help relieve suffering and distress amongst persons endangered by accidents or natural hazards in North Cumbria.

Our young people are amazing! For many of them though, dealing with difficult life circumstances, depression and mental health challenges can be like walking through mud every single day.

We want them to know there’s no shame in asking for help in that journey - it’s just a conversation.

Join this Carlisle pilot of bringing ‘Give it some Welly’ to life across the area. It involves Wellys, a few gold coins, a lot of fun, gathering with friends and across workplaces, and doing something good together to get more hours for kids and young people to talk about what matters. If you’re interested in finding out how you can be a part of this, get in touch!
